The Atlanta Anointing: Inside Invest Fest '26 (Boss XL Exclusive)

Before the first dollar changed hands, Atlanta was already having a conversation about who gets to build — and who gets to be recognized for building. On The Breakfast Club, Earn Your Leisure co-founders revealed they were "flirting with the idea" of taking Invest Fest out of Atlanta after six years in the city. Their frustration was unmistakable: when corporate giants arrive, cities find budgets for billboards, transportation, hotels, police, and subsidies. But when Black entrepreneurs build an economic institution themselves, the expectation can sound very different.

"When you work with a city, there's a budget… subsidies, municipalities… But I think a lot of times when you're a Black entrepreneur, a lot of things are just expected like, 'Oh, you got it.'"

That public callout didn't simply ignite comment sections. It forced the conversation into rooms where decisions are made. But as the doors opened on August 7, politics took a back seat to a higher calling.

Walking onto that convention floor, surrounded by thousands of strivers beneath glowing signs declaring Assets Over Liabilities, you could feel a visceral truth: this wasn't just a financial conference. It was a reclamation — a gathering centered on ownership, self-determination, and economic power. A place where wealth wasn't merely discussed. It was treated as sacred.

Discipline Over Instant Gratification

Ian Dunlap didn't mince words. His investing lesson wasn't wrapped in fantasy. It was discipline, delivered with an Atlanta reality check.

"Throw four or five thousand at Magic City… at a time. The magic number is between two to five thousand a month into the market… The first bill you must pay every month is into your financial freedom."

The room laughed. Then it listened. Because everybody understood the choice he was describing: the money that disappears tonight, or the money that compounds tomorrow.

Serena Williams: Write The Checks

And then the lights dropped. Serena Williams appeared through a burst of pyrotechnics, and thousands of voices rose at once. But the tennis legend wasn't there simply to be celebrated. She was there to talk about capital.

"We need people like me. We need women writing the checks… Our portfolio right now is 68% women or person of color, and that is unheard of in the VC world."

Her message was clear: don't just get invited into the room. Own the room.

The Body Is The First Company

When Dr. Yahki Awakened took the stage, the conversation expanded beyond financial capital. Suddenly, biological health wasn't separate from financial freedom — it was the foundation.

"The body is your first company."

His appearance culminated in a $10,000 donation to Project High-Lvl / 19Keys, turning the conversation from accumulation into circulation.

Cognitive Sovereignty In AI

19Keys challenged the crowd's relationship with artificial intelligence:

"If I use it too much to replace my gift, then I'll no longer be gifted."

His call for digital sovereignty landed like a warning from the future: if you don't control your technology, your data, or your ideas, what exactly do you own?

Key Festival Takeaways

•  68% VC Allocation: Serena Ventures leading diversity in funding.

•  Invest Bowl & Island: Active marketplace for Black-owned businesses.

•  Community Giving: Direct $10,000 grant to youth leadership.

The Anointing

By the end of Invest Fest '26, the weekend was larger than a conference. It was a marketplace, a classroom, a cultural gathering, and a declaration. They showed up. They learned. They invested. They imagined.

Will you be in the room for Invest Fest 2027?

Sometimes I look for interesting information, reviews, or expert commentary because someone drops a link in a group—they are genuinely engaging, but sometimes you read through an article and find such useful links neatly woven right inside the text. For example, I recently came across a great overview on platforms like https://www.politolog.net.ua/ and htpps://deribasovskaya.net, or e
