Atlanta Rap Legend Big Boi Honored with Proclamation at "ATL Loves Hip Hop"

Atlanta Rap Icon, and one half of Billboard's most Influential Rap Group Outkast, Big Boi was honored at Atlanta's celebration of the 50th anniversary of Hip-Hop, ATL LOVES HIPHOP. The event, which took place on August 11th at Spaceman Rooftop in Buckhead, presented Big Boi with a Proclamation from the honorable Councilmember Byron Amos. Big Boi received the Outstanding Georgia Citizen Award making him a goodwill ambassador for the State of Georgia and a resolution that commends him from State Representative Park Cannon, alongside various acknowledgements and proclamations as well.

Big Boi was honored and proud to share these awards with his mother, who was in attendance. The event featured music curated by Supreme the DJ, ILL Wink, DJ Nabs and Cutmaster Swiff. Sponsors included Remy Martin, Puma and Foot Locker.

Big Boi is set to join LL COOL J on the F.O.R.C.E. Tour, which kicks off on Aug. 11 in Baltimore. He will join LL and The Roots for five dates, starting in Memphis on Aug. 22.
