The Wisdom Foundation proudly presented rising high school basketball star Tarris Bouie III with the launch of his own nonprofit, the TB3 Foundation, during an exclusive celebration held at the iconic “Big Yellow House” on Lake Wylie—once the home of NBA legend Larry Johnson.

Tarris, a Top 25 national prospect and recent signee with Klutch Sports, made his first philanthropic gesture by donating his autograph to the Wisdom Foundation’s silent auction. The standout guard is headed to Spire Academy in Geneva, OH for his senior year as he continues his rise among the nation’s elite.

Tarris first caught the Foundation’s spotlight at its inaugural Business of Basketball High School Showcase, held during March Madness 2025. The two-day, invite-only event featured a symposium with speakers covering NIL education, financial literacy, entrepreneurship, recruiting pathways including NJCAA (National Junior College Athletic Association), and athlete professionalism. The event also included a dunk contest, 3-point shootout, and a marquee team competition that brought together top talent from regional public, private, and charter schools.

Tarris delivered a historic performance in the final game, earning MVP honors after dropping 50 points, including 30 points from three-point range in the first quarter alone.

Following his stellar showing, Tarris and his family were honored during a private evening ceremony where the TB3 Foundation was officially introduced. The celebration took place on the home’s indoor basketball court and concluded with a boat ride for family and tournament alumni—highlighting the Foundation’s commitment to building deep, meaningful connections in and beyond the game.

The Wisdom Foundation, whose mission is to expand awareness, empower growth, encourage insight, and inspire change, is planning a Fall 2025 elite development program for standout 8th–12th grade student-athletes across North and South Carolina. The experience will include:

  • NIL Essentials & Personal Branding

  • Professionalism & Career Preparedness

  • Interview & Public Speaking Skills

  • Social Media Strategy

  • Financial Literacy for Student-Athletes

  • Business Networking & Entrepreneurial Thinking

  • Mental Wellness & Performance Mindset

Wisdom Foundation started in 2009 by Marvin Wilson, has fed and clothed the homeless, offered the first business of basketball panel discussion in 2019. In 2025 during March Madness, Wisdom Foundation had the audacity to do something for high school kids. They created a 2 day event with the business of basketball symposium of speakers on Junior Colleges, NIL, Personal Development and Financial Literacy followed by Dunk, 3 pt contest and the following day, a game of the most talented players in the Charlotte area from public, private and charter schools, including Tarris Bouie, which resulted in an action packed high scoring game.

Boss XL Mag - How did the organization get started back and what are some overall goals?

Marvin Wilson - Wisdom Foundation came back around in  2019 when the NBA ALLSTAR game was here in Charlotte. I birthed the BUSINESS OF BASKETBALL CONCEPT. I had spiritual dream to implement a platform and a model to give these kids the same experiences and expose them to real skills and information they will need off the court as well.

Our overall goals is to teach financial literacy and the relationship with money. We also teach mental health courses in terms with dealing with stress, anxiety etc. We organize fundraisers, trips and for the kids to volunteer and learn community engagement skills.

The fun part is taking them to NBA Games, practices and mini camps.

In the future, we will do more fundraising events and pop up clinics at high schools.
