SWV, Missy Elliot, Evelyn "Champagne" King and others celebrated at the Black Music Honors


The 8th Annual Black Music Honors celebrated influential music legends and icons during their live taping at the Cobb Energy Performing Arts Centre in Atlanta, GA. Returning to host this year's event were Comedian Deray Davis and Singer Letoya Luckett.


This year's honorees were Missy Elliot (Music Innovator Icon), SWV (Urban Music Icon), Evelyn "Champagne" King (R & B Music Icon), Jeffrey Osborne (Legends Award), The Hawkins Family (Gospel Music Icon), and a recognition to the late Bobby Caldwell, singer and song writer, for his over 25 year career in music.

The night was packed with exhilarating performances as a tribute to the honorees by Tamar Braxton, Anthony Hamilton, Tina Campbell, Kenny Lattimore, Raheem Devaughn, Elle Varner, Sevyn Streeter, Lil Mo, Robin Thicke, Latocha Scott, The Shindellas, 702, and many more.




Produced by Don Jackson and his Chicago based Central City Productions, the two hour event will premiere on the Stellar Network June 3rd, and will air through the National Broadcast Syndication June 10th - July 2nd, and on Bounce TV June 19th.
