The Founders’ Vision: Closing the Wealth Gap

At the heart of the movement are George Acheampong and Carter Cofield, the brilliant minds behind Melanin Money. Their mission? To help 100,000 Black families build a net worth of $1 million. Their commitment was evident in every detail of Wealth Weekend—from the structure of workshops to the intentionality behind each speaker chosen.

“We are here to build legacy, not just income,” said Cofield during one panel. Acheampong added, “It’s about equipping our people with the access and tools to thrive, not just survive.”

Terrence J Shines as Awards Host

Capping off the weekend was the glamorous Melanin Millionaire Awards & Sneaker Ball, hosted by none other than Terrence J—actor, entrepreneur, and cultural mainstay. The awards celebrated those making waves in the community through business, advocacy, and leadership, all while dressed to the nines in tuxedos and custom kicks.
