With all of this experience, Lesa gave us some tips on how to apply and secure a federal or state government contract.

Boss XL Mag - What is the main thing a company needs when applying for a government contract?

Lesa Adeboye - A company needs to ensure that they are formally established with its State Corporation office. The company must register to do business with the US Federal Government at SAM.gov, the US Government's online platform. I suggest that the company also visit the Small Business Administration (SBA) website, sba.gov for additional information on doing business with the federal government.

Boss XL Mag - Is there any difference between securing a federal or state contract?

Lesa Adeboye - There are differences, however, each government organization, whether federal, state, or local, requires companies to register with them to do business. Conducting a Google search "doing business with <insert justification name> " should take you to the organization's procurement website page.

Boss XL Mag - What are some hot industries that are needed in the government sector?

Lesa Adeboye - The Federal Government spends billions of dollars procuring products and services annually. "Hot industries" include Information Technology, such as Cyber Security and Artificial Intelligence (AI), services and materials related to road and highway infrastructure repair, and healthcare products and services.
